Vintage Cartier Santos Ronde Automatic w/ Rare Slate Grey Dial
Cartier is known for their dynamic style and original design; This rare reference from the 1980's does not dissapoint. A modest sized two toned watch made of stainless steel and 18k gold measring approx 30x38mm. Featuring an automatic movement with date function this wear wears very well on wrist with an almost "bubble back" feel. The octagonal bezel is reminscenct of the classic AP Royal Oak by Gerald Genta. The dial is the real star here, with its slate grey color and brushed finish it is playful with the light. The Cartier signature has almost a ghost appearance at some angles making it very unqiue. The bracelet is tight and 16mm all the way around with invisble folding clasp. Based on my research they made 2 references of this partiuclar watch, a small version with a quartz movement and a slightly larger with automatic movement which is the one shown here. I cannot find one in a larger size than this however I still would call this a midsized watch. I have included two wrist shots to give you an idea how it wears the wrist.
