IWC Calatrava 35mm "Small Portuguese" Steel Circa 1949
One of my absolute favorite vintage time only watches are these IWC Calatravas from the 1940s. Proportionally the 35mm is the excellent as it wears large and is fit for all occasions, easily being dressed up or down. Boasting an almost identical case design as well as dial layout of the legendary IWC 325 'Portuguiser' but sized down from 42mm. The watch is also reminiscent of the Patek Philippe ref. 530 and 570. Both of these watches are icons but far out of reach for most collectors, making this particular watch an incredible value.
The stainless steel 35mm case with 18mm lugs is unpolished. The original and untouched dial is in superb condition; Silvered with applied gold numberals and gold leaf hands. The in-house caliber 88 movement has recently undergone a full service and is running well and as it should.
These watches with this particular case are hard to find esepcially in this condition and it is my pleasure to offer this example.
